Legacy Village Park Regency Brings 'The Harbor' to Moultrie

Legacy Senior Services, which recently assumed management, is upgrading the senior living community and its memory care area, featuring Legacy’s trademarked ‘The Harbor’ concept

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (January 14, 2015) – Legacy Village at Park Regency in Moultrie, Ga., is getting a beautiful facelift to go along with the new management team now operating the senior living community.

“We want all our residents to enjoy their home to the fullest,” says Barry Ray, president of Legacy Senior Services, LLC, which specializes in operating and developing independent living, senior living and memory care communities throughout the Southeast.

Renovations began on Dec. 1, 2014, and should be complete by the end of January 2015.

Legacy Senior Services is known across the broader senior care community for its emphasis on quality care and services, including memory care. The company has worked with leading national researchers to develop and design a specific physical memory care environment, known as The Harbor, which aids in the life enrichment and delivery of care to residents.

The Harbor features bright and lively colors, large windows, specific floor types, intentional textures and furnishing -- all presenting a 1950s theme designed to remind residents of happier times. The first Harbor was developed in Rome, Ga., and has received both statewide and national recognition for the innovative design.

One specific technology, found within The Harbor concept, is SimpleC. SimpleC is an electronic storyboard and drug free, memory stimulation system that uses touch-screen monitors that are available to each resident to deliver Time, Place and Reminiscence Therapy. SimpleC was developed through years of research by top-tiered institutions, including the Copper Ridge Institute, Emory University, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University.

The Harbor is just part of the upgrades planned for Legacy Village at Park Regency. All of the common areas will get new carpet and furnishings, fresh paint and improved lighting.
